This symposium seeks to explore and advance the integration of the Buddha’s timeless teachings into the theory and practice of international diplomacy, peace-building, and sustainable development. At a time when the world is grappling with rising geopolitical tensions, humanitarian crises, and ecological challenges, the ethical and philosophical principles of Buddhism, centered on compassion, non-violence, mindfulness, and interdependence, offer powerful resources for reimagining diplomacy as a path toward peace and collective wellbeing.
